The goal of massage therapy is to reduce tension in the soft tissues in order to alleviate pain and improve mobility.
At our Sanctuary, we use manual massage release techniques, when necessary, to restore balance to the myofascial (muscles, ligaments, fascia, connective tissue) system. It is important that a comprehensive assessment is conducted prior to treatment. Not all tight muscles need to be and should be released. Our muscles tighten up often as a protective mechanism. When we loosen up tight muscles, we can destabilize an already fragile structural system. It is important to understand the mechanics of the entire body before using massage techniques. At Beamer Falls Sanctuary, we often combine myofascial release techniques with hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and an exercise protocol to restore balance to the body.
